Steps for Applying

  • Apply for Admission! You may apply online at Admissions Online Application. Be sure to include the immunization form and the mandatory $20 application fee with the application.
  • Transcripts: Each college or university you have attended must mail official transcripts to the LSUA Admissions Office. If you are currently enrolled, please ask your institution to mail your official transcript once your final grades are posted. LSUA requires transfer students to have at least a 2.0 GPA for guaranteed admission.
  • If you earned fewer than 12 non-developmental semester credit hours, you will need to request that the high school you attended send LSU Alexandria an official high school transcript. If you earned a GED, please send a copy of your score report with your application for admission.
  • If you have not completed freshman English and math, you will need to submit ACT scores.

Financial Aid

LSU Alexandria’s Title IV Code: 002011 can be added to your Student Aid Report (SAR) at Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), if you have a PIN. You can also call the U.S. Department of Education at 1-800-433-3243, ask the college or university you attended, or contact LSUA to add the code to your SAR using your Data Release Number (DRN).

Our Financial Aid Office will need to see unofficial copies of all your transcripts to verify that you have made Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

If you receive requests for more information from our Financial Aid office, please return the requested information as soon as possible.

Transferring Courses to LSUA

If you have taken general education courses at a regionally accredited university, those courses will transfer and meet our general education requirements. You will receive an official evaluation of your course work after all transcripts have been received and you are admitted to the university. Log onto LA Board of Regents and click the eMatrix link. Enter your school and course then choose LSU Alexandria to see the equivalent course. Remember, the eMatrix only lists a few general education courses, not all of them. Courses in addition to general education may be transferable. All courses on your transcript will be assessed to determine how they might apply to your degree program.
